Hi, I am faced this notion RPE which based on a tamlpete can generate pdf, xml for example so I am wondering if it can be used for OLE extraction of pdf, xml from an reqirement?
Or the purpose of the RPE is just to get the Formal Module info to add headers ,footers heading page and so on?

Re: What is Rational Publishing Engine and can we use it for Ole Download?

The Rational Publishing Engine is a DOORS Extension written in Java that features a graphical template editor and an export engine for Word, PDF, HTML, XLS. It can be used not only for DOORS but for other data sources as well to create documents. In the end the DOORS exporter plugin also only uses DXL - so everything it does can be done natively with DXL. So if your focus is on exporting OLE information, then you might be better off with native DXL than with trying to automate the publishing engine. Regards, Mathias
